MELODUM

YOU SAY

You say that love is freedom
So how do you plan to free me

You say that love is giving in
And what do you have to give me

You say that love is a playground
And we should keep on playing

You say that love is forever, oh
Do you hear what you are saying

When you talk about freedom
The words are an alibi
If you know about flying,
Come dive into the sky

You laugh, but i don’t see you smiling,
You call, but i don’t hear my name
There are no tears when you are crying
This is all just another game

You say that love is freedom
So how do you plan to free me

You say that love is giving in
And what do you have to give me

You say that love ‘s a playground
And we should keep on playing

You say that love is forever, oh
Do you hear what you are saying

Where were you when my soul was bleeding
When the winds were tearing me apart
Where were you when i needed your loving
To set to light the darkness of my heart

Where were you when my nights were sleepless
When the days were dragging on and on
Tell me where was, when i really needed
That smile of yours to help me  carry on

HOPE FOR AFRICA

Clouds are scattered across blue sky hanging low,
Beneath them savannah’s drying
and nomad tribes are on the go.
Beneath them babies are crying
for mother’s milk; it doesn’t flow.

The nights are cold, the days are long,
filled with sunshine and bird song.
Nowhere else is the earth as red,
soaked with warrior blood that had bled.
Just as the grass, though it may not seem,
is nowhere as green.

This is the land of color, of taste,
of fruit that’s sweet.
This is the land of music, of dance,
of rhythmic beat.

Rooted, like columns,
acasia trees support the sky
under which zebra, elephant,
buffalo, all live and die.

I don’t want to say goodbye to
Africa – the land is dying.
Africa – for you I’m crying.
Africa – there must be hope,
there must be hope for Africa

….

TURN A FEW HEADS AROUND

Gotta stop wishing on a star
When night puts out day
Don’t you know there are
Hearts to be given away?

I dare you to go get ‘em
Feel the rhythm, hear the sound,
Show me that you still can
Turn a few heads around.

Don’t hesitate to look for
True love in strange places
It’s all yours to discover
Love wears many faces

….

ALL THAT YOU ARE

Like a beautiful woman in a million dollar dress,
Like a solitaire diamond that needs no company to impress,
Like a night sky’s shiny star, all that you are.

Like a steel door shut right in my face,
Like a stone in no need of touch or embrace,
Like a heart distant and far, all that you are.

Like a song of freedom sang by a bird in a cage,
Like a prayer that comes from a heart of rage,
Like a heart distant and far, all that you are.

WITH A LITTLE BIT OF

With a little bit of luck,
One good hand,
We could have been winning
Our way until the end.

With a little bit of truth,
We could have
Seen where we were going
We could have tried another way

I can’t just stop being me,
No matter how hard I try,
I will always carry a scar on my heart
Knowing that just as love is born
So love can die.

And I refuse to equate
Love with romantic lies,
That’ll make you think you’ve found your mate
But before you know, love’s gone,
And it’s too late.

With a little bit of faith
Giving up
Would have been much harder
For me and you to do

With a little bit of love,
We could have
Lasted a bit longer
That’s a lie that I used to believe
